TOKYOMILK Bon Bon Lip Balm in No. 03 ~Honey Blossom~
And out of the box~ It comes in a cute, little glass jar with the metal lid...
I've wanted to try some of TOKYOMILK's lip balms since I saw them on Beauty Habit but they had so many varieties I couldn't make up my mind which to try first. A couple of months later, to my surprise, I found them at Anthropologie. This had its pros and cons, I liked being able to smell the scents before I bought one but they only carried 03 Honey Blossom, 071 Rose Water, and 082 Opera Mint. Such a limited selection XD It has sunflower seed oil, which is one of those ingredients that can really finish off a product in my opinion, but it's subtle and if you smell it, it's not obvious what it is.
As far as the moisturizing goes I would say it's moderate. It will never have the affect of heavier lip balms like Rosebud Salve, but that's one reason why I feel it's more suited for the daytime. Heavier lip balms can really serve their purpose at night, but I think they can be WAY too overpowering for the daytime - often they make the lips look heavy and too shiny, not to mention they can be sticky and not pleasant for a guy to kiss! *sorry for the random rant* However it does take a little bit to warm up and get out of the jar... not really that long in all actuality, but it seems to take awhile. This didn't bother me enough to stop using it because I think it's best to only put a thin layer on anyhow, so the lips don't look goopy and then re-apply later as desired. I have also found that it makes a great base before applying lip glosses - it keeps the gloss from feeling like it's creasing and it also keeps lips moist as the lip gloss wears off... I love this because I hate the sticky, dry feeling that lip gloss can have as it wears off.
What I loveeee about the TOKYOMILK lip balm is that it is very potable, light, smells great, not sticky at all (and is therefore very kissable and just rubs into your hands when your done applying if somewhere to wash them is not available. I really like this because if you're out and about, the last thing you want is sticky fingers from your lip balm.) and it comes in cute packaging ^_^ I think this is the best day time lip balm I've ever found! lol it even came with Kissing Tips and Facts... how... odd???
I'm looking forward to trying their Sweet Cream and Iced Green Tea lip balms sometime soon! They sound really nice too, and now that I know the quality of their lip balms I think I will be more apt to order online.
Thanks for reading and byes for now~
